Call for the KIAC post-doctoral fellowship

The Kotak IISc AI-ML Centre (KIAC) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India is seeking talented, highly-motivated applicants for its post-doctoral fellowship programme.

The programme is aimed at researchers who have recently completed their doctorates and wish to pursue cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence (AI). These are one-year fellowships starting in 2023, extendable by another year based on performance.

As a Kotak Post-doctoral Fellow, the candidate will have the opportunity to pursue AI research that interests them, aligns with the Centre’s vision, and is of benefit to the community, under the mentorship of the Institute’s expert researchers. The candidate will work closely with faculty and students of the Division of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Sciences (EECS), the Department of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS), and the Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems (RBCCPS).

This is a rolling call. The applications will be processed by a Committee periodically till all the vacancies are filled. 

Requirements

  • PhD in the relevant field – recently completed.
  • Good research record evidenced by publications in top-tier premier conferences (such as A* ranked conferences) in artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML).
  • Candidate should have identified a faculty mentor from EECS, CDS, and RBCCPS

Expectations from selected candidates

Apart from research, selected candidates are expected to

  • participate in the teaching activities at IISc.  
  • mentor Master’s and PhD students. 

Emoluments

  • Rs 1 lakh/per month (fixed)
