IISc–UNSW joint workshop on ‘Healthcare at the grassroots in the era of modern AI’

An online workshop was jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney. The aim of the workshop was to explore and highlight the use of artificial intelligence for point-of-care in remote/regional areas. The speakers were from both IISc and UNSW and the talks covered (i) trustworthy healthcare AI, (ii) speech and biomedical signal processing for healthcare, (iii) multimodal sensing and AI for individual and community healthcare monitoring, (iv) AI in oral cancer screening, (v) medical imaging, (vi) biomedical imaging and computer vision, (vii) natural language processing for medical data, and (viii) health chatbots. The workshop facilitated an exposure to the different uses of AI in healthcare and discussion on the same.
